Visiting Battersea
The district of Battersea is known for a range of iconic landmarks that make it an easily recognisable part of London. Of these perhaps the most famous is the mighty Battersea Power Station structure that has stood since the 1930s but is now no longer in use. Other attractions in Battersea include Battersea Park which sprawls over 80 hectares and also features its own zoo, and the well-loved Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Battersea is mainly known as a residential district and has properties ranging from homes overlooking the River Thames to council estates, but does not have a wide range of hotels. It is said to be home to over 70,000 of the city’s inhabitants.
