Visiting Farringdon

This area of offices, clustered around the train station of the same name, once straddled the City of London’s old medieval walls. Today it’s part of the business district, which for visitors means that there are lots of interesting spots to get lunch. If you’re based here it won’t take you long to get to some of London’s most fascinating places. You could head down to Smithfield, the most famous wholesale market in London, which has been operating on the same site for millennium. You have to get there early though – trading starts at two in the morning! Other local tourist attractions include  the excellent Museum of London, recounting the city’s history from hundreds of thousands of years ago to the present day.  Local hotels include The Travelodge Farringdon, which is ideally suited to budget travelers.
